This 1:48 scale diecast model represents North American P-51D Mustang “Scat VI” (44-11746), flown by Major Robin Olds of the 434th Fighter Squadron during WWII. On April 13, 1945, Olds led a mission over Germany in “Scat VI” alongside four other Mustangs to strafe a test site. Hit by heavy flak, Olds’ aircraft was severely damaged, but he skillfully managed to land it—despite missing a flap and large portions of the wing. The aircraft was declared beyond repair.
Robin Olds ended WWII with 24.5 victories—13 of which were aerial—and later added 4 more during the Vietnam War. His aircraft were famously named “Scat” in honor of his West Point roommate Scat Davis, who could not become a pilot due to an eye condition. The name lived on through every aircraft Olds flew, from “Scat I” to his final jet, the F-4 “Scat XXVII.”
Diecast construction with authentic details. Model comes pre-assembled with accessories and ready to display.

- The model is in good overall condition but please note that the underside of the horizontal stabiliser (near fuselage) has some paint wear marks.
