Description
A unique 1:72 scale diecast masterpiece blending historic military aviation with heavy metal attitude. This premium model from the Corgi Aviation Archive Collector Series (CC33719) replicates the Heinkel He 111 "Bomber" adorned in an officially licensed, iconic Motörhead livery featuring the band's signature logo and artwork. Originally designed in direct violation of the Treaty of Versailles, the real-world He 111 first flew on February 24, 1935. Though it masqueraded initially as a transport aircraft, it was actually a fast medium bomber that went on to become the most prolific Luftwaffe bomber used during the early part of WWII. In its early career, it stood as one of the fastest aircraft in the world with speeds exceeding 250 mph, proving highly versatile as a medium bomber, strategic bomber, and torpedo bomber before Luftwaffe production was halted in late 1944.
Constructed as a famous symbol of the WWII German bomber forces (Kampfwaffe), this 1:72 scale replica is engineered using only the smallest amount of plastic, featuring a solid diecast metal fuselage, tail, and massive elliptical wings. Technical highlights include a large offset "greenhouse" nose canopy that allows for easy viewing of the interior pilot and forward gunner/bombardier figures lying prone over the bomb site. The airframe is equipped with multiple defensive machine gun positions, including a rotating dorsal mounted gunner station, waist gunners, and an intricate ventral birdcage gondola. Additional detailing features opening hinged bomb doors that reveal internal bomb details, an intricate ventral antenna, and a subassembly landing gear package for flexible ground or flight display configurations.
