Model condition

  • All noted defects are shown with red arrows in the images for clear observation.
  • Exterior: Visually mint throughout, with no visible exterior defects.
  • Bomb bay: The two central inner doors are stiff and do not fully open. One inner retaining pin at the end of an inner door snapped during a gentle functionality check; the detached piece is secured with Sellotape inside the accessory pack and is included for a possible repair. The opposite inner door opens only halfway due to a factory defect rather than damage.
  • The affected door remains seated flush when closed, so the issue does not detract from the model’s display appearance. This fragile area should be left closed and as-is.
  • This example is not recommended for a buyer who requires fully functioning bomb-bay doors.
  • Comes complete with its original parts and accessories.

Box condition

  • The outer box has some inward flexing to the front.
  • The inner blister tray has a crack through one end and a hole at the opposite end where the wing tips are seated; the model nevertheless remains completely secure in the packaging.

Description

Corgi AA33718 is a detailed 1:72 scale diecast representation of the Heinkel He 111H-6, finished as W.Nr.4500 A1+FN, flown by Lieutenant Erich Horn of 5./Kampfgeschwader 53 from Yukhnov on 21 January 1942.

KG 53 operated the Heinkel He 111 on the Eastern Front, undertaking bombing and support missions in demanding winter conditions. This aircraft carried temporary white winter camouflage and was forced to land behind German lines after being struck by Soviet anti-aircraft fire during a low-level attack near Yukhnov; its crew survived.

The He 111H-6 was one of the Luftwaffe’s principal twin-engined medium bombers and could carry bombs, torpedoes and external stores. This release captures a distinctive Eastern Front aircraft and makes an imposing display model for collectors of Second World War German aviation.

Grading

Grading Criteria

Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.

Mint (10/10)
- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.

Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.

Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.

Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.

Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.

Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.

Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.

If a separate accessory, stand, leaflet, certificate or optional part is missing, this will be mentioned in the listing notes. The model may still receive a high grade if the model itself remains in strong condition.
