Condition

The Royal Netherlands Air Force Historical Flight Foundation (SKHV) proudly operates Supermarine Spitfire IXb serial number 3W-17. Built in 1943, the aircraft took part in D-Day operations. It later served with the Dutch 322 Fighter Section, formed in 1946 and renamed 322 Squadron in 1947, originally bearing the serial H-25 before being redesignated 3W-17.

 

After retiring from military service in 1953, the Spitfire was acquired by the SKHV in 1991. It was fully restored and repainted in a silver scheme, receiving the Dutch civil registration PH-OUQ in 2000.

Grading Criteria


Mint (10/10)  
 - As new, no visible flaws.


Near Mint (9/10)  
- Very light signs of handling or display only.


Excellent (8/10)  
- Light wear or a few tiny marks; displays very well.


Very Good (7/10)  
- Noticeable wear or small chips/rubs but still presentable.


Good (6/10)  
- Obvious overall wear; better as a display/filler piece.


Fair (5/10)  
- Heavy wear or larger areas of paint loss.


Spares/Repairs (4/10 or below)  
- Significant damage or missing parts.
