This Consolidated B-24J Liberator represents USAAF 43rd BG, 64th BS aircraft 44-40973 “The Dragon and his Tail” from Ie Shima Island in 1945. With its highly distinctive nose art and colourful decorative markings, it captures the Liberator in one of the most visually memorable schemes worn by the type in the Pacific theatre.
