Frank Luke Jr., known as "The Arizona Balloon Buster," was America's second-highest-scoring WWI ace with 18 victories, including 14 observation balloons. In just eight days, he flew ten daring missions before being killed in action on September 29, 1918. He was the first U.S. airman awarded the Medal of Honor, and Luke Air Force Base is named in his honor.
