Description
A substantial and highly detailed 1:48 scale diecast representation of a United States Army Bell UH-1C Huey configured for battlefield medical evacuation during the Vietnam War. Released as part of Corgi's Unsung Heroes Vietnam Series II, US50405 depicts the iconic utility helicopter in a restrained olive-drab Medevac finish.
The Bell UH-1 Iroquois, universally known as the “Huey”, became one of the aircraft most closely associated with the Vietnam War. It was used for troop transport, casualty evacuation, command and control, resupply, reconnaissance and armed support across a vast and often difficult operational environment.
Medical evacuation helicopters provided a vital connection between troops in the field and military treatment facilities. Their crews frequently entered contested landing zones to recover wounded personnel, allowing casualties to receive specialist medical care far more quickly than would otherwise have been possible.
The model is finished in dark olive drab with subdued United States Army markings. A prominent red medical cross appears across the lower nose glazing, accompanied by white “Hope United” artwork above it. The open side-cabin arrangement reveals the interior and emphasises the aircraft's medical evacuation role.
The UH-1C was developed to provide improved performance over earlier members of the Huey family. Its broader rotor system and uprated powerplant were especially valuable in hot conditions and when operating with heavy loads, although the type is more commonly associated with armed and support duties.
Limited to 6,500 pieces worldwide, this Corgi release features extensive diecast construction, large cockpit and cabin glazing, detailed crew positions, opening or exposed cabin areas, skid landing gear and a broad rotating main rotor. Its medical markings and comparatively restrained finish make it a distinctive alternative to the more heavily armed Huey releases.

Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.
Good (6/10)

Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
If a separate accessory, stand, leaflet, certificate or optional part is missing, this will be mentioned in the listing notes. The model may still receive a high grade if the model itself remains in strong condition.
