Description
A colourful 1:48 scale diecast representation of the Albatros D.V associated with Paul Bäumer of Jasta 5 at Boistrancourt Aerodrome, France, in January 1918.
Paul Bäumer entered aviation after working as an assistant dentist and became one of Germany’s leading fighter pilots. He eventually achieved 43 aerial victories and received the Pour le Mérite during the final weeks of the First World War.
Jasta 5 became one of the most successful German fighter squadrons of the conflict and was recognised by its distinctive green-tailed aircraft. Individual pilots added personal markings that made the unit’s Albatros fighters especially memorable.
The Albatros D.V entered service during 1917 as a refined development of the D.III. Its streamlined plywood fuselage, Mercedes engine and twin machine guns gave it an elegant appearance, although the sesquiplane wing structure remained a source of concern.
Released within Corgi’s Aviation Archive Collector Series and limited to 1,400 pieces worldwide, the model features fine bracing wires, simulated fabric surfaces, detailed Mercedes engine components, twin machine guns, pilot figure and presentation display stand.

- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
