Description
A tribute to a Medal of Honor recipient in the skies of Italy. This 1:48 scale diecast model by Hobby Master (HA8408) replicates the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt "Oh Johnnie" (#42-26785), flown by 1st Lt. Raymond Knight of the 346th Fighter Squadron, 350th Fighter Group, out of Pisa, Italy, in early 1945. This bubble-top airframe carries massive historical weight, representing the aircraft in which Lt. Knight performed a series of extraordinarily hazardous, low-level strafing missions against enemy airfields on April 24 and 25, 1945.
