Originally RAF Spitfire Mk XIVe NH904, this aircraft was acquired by the Belgian military in 1950 and marked as B2-K/SG-108. It later served with the Belgian Fighter School as IQ-V/SG-108 before being retired in 1954 and sold for scrap in 1957. The fuselage, with wings removed, was displayed on a shop roof.
Rescued in 1966 and restored using wings from Mk XIVc RM694, it was used in the 1968 film Battle of Britain. It passed through several owners—including Spencer Flack, who painted it red and white as G-FIRE—before moving to the U.S., where it was registered as N8118J and N1148P. Since 1997, it has been part of the Palm Springs Air Museum, marked as W2-P.
