Description
A spectacular, high-visibility celebration of continental air defense partnerships. This highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast model by Hobby Master (HA3542) replicates the McDonnell Douglas CF-18 Hornet (CF-188 / #188776), serving as the official 2018 Demonstration aircraft for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Piloted by ten-year veteran Captain Stefan "Porcelain" Porteous, this eye-catching fighter toured the North American air show circuit to commemorate the milestone 60th Anniversary of NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command). A historic, binational agreement between Canada and the United States, NORAD has monitored and defended North American skies against external aerial aggression since its inception. This premium release beautifully replicates the jet's striking commemorative livery, featuring a brilliant deep-blue paint scheme adorned with North American map graphics, bold red accents, and NORAD's definitive motto: "We Have the Watch."
Ideal for curators of specialized display liveries and modern RCAF history, this Air Power Series release serves as a definitive historical artifact. The 1:72 scale model is engineered with exceptional precision, capturing the fine contours of the multirole strike fighter. Technical highlights include a removable main canopy that provides an completely unobstructed view of the detailed cockpit, complete with pad-printed instruments and interior features. A separate, additional canopy assembly is included to effortlessly display the aircraft with an open cockpit profile. Additional engineering features include an optional-position speed brake that can be set in the deployed stance via a fixed actuator, alongside modular landing gear and gear door subassemblies for quick ground or in-flight configurations. Placed on its included presentation display stand, this vibrant jet commands a premier presence.
