Hobby Master HA3871 1:72 F-16C Fighting Falcon USAF 18th AGRS Alaska 2017

Sale price£65.00 GBP

Preowned - Near Mint (9/10)

Description

A striking, matte-black aggressor specialized in simulating high-stakes adversary tactics. This highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast model by Hobby Master (HA3871) replicates the Lockheed F-16C Fighting Falcon (#86-0295), operating with the elite 18th Aggressor Squadron, 354th Fighter Wing out of Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, in early 2017. Originally delivered to the 35th TFW in 1988, this airframe was transferred to the 18th AGRS in January 2008 to help train Allied pilots against real-world threat profiles. In early 2017, the aircraft underwent a thorough inspection and overhaul at Hill AFB, where it received a temporary, dramatic matte black base coat accented by stark yellow tactical markings. Designed to serve as a baseline coat before transitioning to a forest green splinter camouflage pattern later that year, this brief and distinctive blacked-out configuration represents one of the most unique and visually intimidating modern stealth-emulating schemes worn by an Arctic Falcon.

Ideal for curators of modern adversary training programs and specialized F-16 Fighting Falcon variants, this Air Power Series release serves as a definitive historical artifact. The 1:72 scale model is engineered with exceptional precision, utilizing an intelligent mix of diecast metal and high-grade plastic components to achieve maximum accuracy. A standout engineering highlight is the articulating, hinged canopy that closes seamlessly with virtually no visible gaps, exposing a fully kitted cockpit with pad-printed flight instrumentation and control details. Additional technical hallmarks include an accurately molded plastic air intake, a finely rendered rudder assembly, and an array of detachable under-wing pylons, external drop tanks, and dummy training missiles. Complete with highly detailed landing gear subassemblies for easy ground or in-flight display configurations, this premium model commands the attention of any tactical aircraft gallery.
