Description

This 1:72 diecast model of McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom ZE357 represents one of the iconic aircraft flown by No. 74 Squadron “Tiger Squadron” during its final operational years. Reformed at RAF Wattisham in 1984, the squadron was equipped with ex-U.S. Navy F-4J Phantoms, with ZE357 (formerly USN BuNo 153892) delivered on November 3, 1984.

 

In 1991, No. 74 Squadron transitioned from the F-4J to surplus FGR.2 Phantoms. ZE357 was delivered to the unit in early 1984 and later transferred to RAF Bruggen in Germany before being retired and scrapped in 1998. The historic No. 74 Squadron was officially disbanded in October 1992, closing the chapter on one of the RAF’s most storied units.

 

This model comes prebuilt and includes display accessories and a stand, perfect for collectors of Cold War-era RAF jets and Phantom variants.

Condition

This model has one small breakage to the top fuselage antenna piece, the broken off piece has been placed in a zip bag. Otherwise the model is in near mint condition with only some light wear. Comes complete.

 

The box is in excellent condition with wear to the edges mainly.
