Description

This 1:72 diecast model of McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom ZE353 represents the aircraft flown by the renowned No. 74 Squadron "Tiger Squadron" during the final years of its service. Reformed at RAF Wattisham in 1984, No. 74 Squadron operated ex-U.S. Navy F-4J Phantoms until January 1991. Phantom ZE353 was originally USN BuNo 153785 before being delivered to the RAF on October 4, 1984.

 

In early 1991, the squadron transitioned to surplus FGR.2 Phantoms and ZE353 was transferred to Manston Fire School on February 20, 1991, where it remained until being scrapped in July 2001. No. 74 Squadron was officially disbanded in October 1992, bringing an end to a proud legacy dating back to 1917.

 

This model comes prebuilt and includes display accessories and a stand, making it an ideal addition for Cold War jet collectors and RAF Phantom enthusiasts.

This model is in excellent overall condition with a couple of drawbacks including a small wear area on the topside of the wing and to the underside of the tails horizontal stabiliser. Comes complete.
