Limited Edition

Condition

Built in late 1944 by Vickers Supermarine at Keevil, Spitfire Mk XIV MV293 was initially stored before being sent to India in 1945, where it served with the Royal Indian Air Force’s 8 Squadron.

After a minor accident and transfer to the Indian Air Force in 1947, it became a ground instructional airframe marked T-20. In 1978, it was acquired by War Birds of Great Britain and shipped back to the UK. Restored to flight in 1992 in a silver post-war scheme, it was later repainted in 2000 as MV268/JE-J to honour famed Spitfire ace Johnnie Johnson.
