Description

An imposing 1:72 scale diecast representation of Heinkel He 111H-6 1G+HK of Luftwaffe II./KG 27, operating over the USSR in January 1943. Corgi AA33705 depicts one of Germany’s most recognisable medium bombers during the demanding winter campaign on the Eastern Front.

The Heinkel He 111 was originally developed during the 1930s and initially presented as a civil transport aircraft. Its military potential soon became clear, and the type developed into one of the Luftwaffe’s principal bombers during the opening years of the Second World War.

The H-6 became one of the most widely used variants, combining improved Junkers Jumo engines with the ability to carry bombs, torpedoes and other external stores. By January 1943, He 111 units on the Eastern Front were operating in severe winter conditions as the Luftwaffe attempted to support increasingly pressured German ground forces.

The aircraft represented carries the code 1G+HK and the markings of II./KG 27. Its winter Eastern Front association, large glazed nose and unmistakable elliptical wings give the release considerable presence among Second World War bomber collections.

Released within Corgi’s Aviation Archive Collector Series and limited to 1,700 pieces worldwide, the model features substantial diecast construction, a detailed glazed cockpit, multiple defensive gun positions, an intricate ventral gondola, opening bomb-bay doors, removable landing gear and a presentation display stand.

- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.

Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.

Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
