Description
A profound, high-visibility tribute honoring Canada's monumental wartime training legacy. This highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast model by Hobby Master (HA3550) replicates the McDonnell Douglas CF-18 Hornet (CF-188 / #188761), operating as the official 2016 Demonstration aircraft for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Masterfully designed by Jim Belliveau, the graphic artist for 410 Tactical Fighter (Operational Training) Squadron, this scheme commemorates the historic British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP). Operating from 1939 to 1945 across more than one hundred Canadian communities, the BCATP was a colossal undertaking that trained 131,553 Allied aircrew. The jet's striking livery uses bright yellow to represent the plan's training aircraft, rich black to signify the dark times of war, and bold red lines to echo flames pushing through the darkness. Piloted on the air show circuit by Captain Ryan "Roid" Kean, this Hornet proudly displays historic BCATP style roundels across its wings.
Ideal for curators of commemorative air show liveries and modern Canadian military heritage, this Air Power Series release serves as a definitive historical artifact. The 1:72 scale model is engineered with premium precision, perfectly rendering the sleek lines of the multirole Hornet. Technical highlights include an interchangeable or removable canopy assembly that provides an unobstructed view of the cockpit interior, which is fully kitted with pad-printed instruments and structural seat detailing. Performance display options feature a deployable speed brake that can be posed open using an included fixed actuator, alongside modular landing gear and gear door subassemblies for quick ground or in-flight configurations. Posed elegantly on its sleek black presentation display stand, this vibrant warbird commands attention in any collection.

Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.
Mint (10/10)
- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.
Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.
Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.
Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.
Good (6/10)

Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
