Description
A highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast representation of a Luftwaffe McDonnell Douglas RF-4E Phantom II used for tactical reconnaissance during the closing years of the Cold War. Released as part of the Hobby Master Air Power Series, HA19050 depicts aircraft 35+67 of Aufklärungsgeschwader 52 while based at Leck Air Base in Germany during 1992.
The German Air Force acquired the RF-4E as a specialised photographic reconnaissance aircraft. Its crews were tasked with gathering detailed imagery and intelligence in support of NATO operations, using the Phantom's speed, range and low-level performance to operate across a wide geographical area.
Aircraft 35+67 entered service with AufklG 52 and remained associated with the unit throughout much of its German career. The model recreates the aircraft in its green and grey camouflage scheme, with subdued Luftwaffe national markings, individual serial numbers and unit insignia applied across the airframe.
The RF-4E differed from fighter versions of the Phantom through its elongated reconnaissance nose, which housed a selection of cameras and sensors instead of the conventional radar and internal armament. This allowed imagery to be collected from low, medium and high altitude while retaining the Phantom's powerful twin-engine performance.
This Hobby Master release features extensive diecast construction, detailed front and rear cockpits beneath separately positionable canopies and an accurately rendered reconnaissance nose. Additional features include removable external fuel tanks and stores, detailed landing gear and the original Hobby Master presentation display stand.

- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.
Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
