Description
This 1:72 scale diecast model represents the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor AF06-132 flown by the 411th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base in 2022. This aircraft was observed equipped with mysterious underwing pods featuring angular designs, likely intended to maintain stealth characteristics. While their function remains speculative, they are believed to house an infrared search and track sensor (IRST).
The IRST system would allow the F-22 to passively detect and track stealth aircraft at long range. Although this technology was once planned for the F-22, it was ultimately shelved due to cost considerations.
Diecast construction with authentic details. Model comes pre-assembled with accessories and ready to display.
