Description
This 1:72 scale diecast model represents A-10C Warthog 79-0145 “Hairless Joe” of the 47th Fighter Squadron, 917th Fighter Group, Barksdale AFB. Manufactured in 1979 (c/n A10-0409), the aircraft features nose art inspired by the Li’l Abner comic strip character "Hairless Joe" by Al Capp.
An inscription inside the ladder door reads: “We fight in search of Truth. We fight for Freedom... With LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.” The 47th FS transitioned from a combat role to a training unit in 1996, and due to the squadron’s experienced pilots, it was later deployed to Bagram AB in 2012 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Diecast construction with authentic details. Model comes pre-assembled with accessories and ready to display.
