This 1:48 scale diecast model represents the North American P-51B Mustang “Shangri-La” flown by Don Gentile of the 4th Fighter Group, USAAF. Originally rejected by the U.S. military, Gentile joined the RCAF before transferring to the No. 133 Eagle Squadron and eventually the USAAF with the rest of the Eagle Squadron pilots.
Gentile achieved 6.33 kills in Spitfires before converting to the P-51 and scoring an additional 15.5 aerial victories plus 6 on the ground. On his final mission, he struck the runway during a low pass, damaging the tail of “Shangri-La.”
Diecast construction with authentic details. Model comes pre-assembled with accessories and ready to display.

- The model is in near mint pre owned condition with some paint loss to the topside wing front edge (small in size).
- The box is in excellent condition for age with some shelf related wear.
