Preowned - Fair (5/10)

Description

The ultimate mount of a legendary Luftwaffe jet ace. This 1:48 scale diecast model by Franklin Mint Armour (B11B299) represents the Messerschmitt Me 262A-1a "Red 13," flown by legendary Ace Major Heinz "Pritzl" Bär while commanding III./EJG 2 in the final weeks of World War II. Achieving an astonishing 221 total aerial victories—including 16 while piloting the revolutionary Me 262 jet fighter—Bär remains one of the most prolific aces in aviation history. Finished in a meticulous multi-tone late-war defensive camouflage pattern with red fuselage accents and "Red 13" tactical markings, this premium model captures the aggressive, swept-wing profile of the world's first operational jet interceptor.

Ideal for curators of WWII aviation history and elite fighter aces, this Franklin Mint release serves as a definitive historical artifact of the dawn of jet warfare. The model is engineered for heavy scale accuracy, featuring crisp panel detailing, a clear canopy revealing cockpit instrumentation, fixed landing gear, and detailed under-nose cannon ports. This solid, substantial diecast metal model offers a sophisticated display presence for collectors prioritizing provenance and legendary pilot lineage, making it a premier acquisition for any gallery dedicated to pioneer aerospace engineering and the Me 262 legacy.
