Description
A collectable four-aircraft set representing fighter, bomber and training operations undertaken by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Released as part of Corgi's Fighting Machines Showcase Collection, CSFS08004 is titled “The RAF at War”.
The Supermarine Spitfire carries the individual marking QJ-R and is associated with distinguished fighter pilot Neville Duke. It is joined by Hawker Hurricane ZY-S of RAF No. 247 Squadron, providing two contrasting examples of Britain's principal wartime single-seat fighters.
The Avro Lancaster represents RAF No. 83 Squadron and carries the squadron code OL-Y. The four-engined Lancaster became one of RAF Bomber Command's principal heavy bombers and was capable of carrying a wide range of conventional and specialised bomb loads.
De Havilland Tiger Moth T6818 represents the essential training system which prepared thousands of pilots for service on operational aircraft. Its inclusion gives the collection a broader perspective, covering the progression from elementary flight training to frontline fighter and bomber operations.
The four models are produced in compact display scales and combine diecast metal construction with detailed plastic components. Each is supplied with authentic RAF markings and its own presentation stand.

Grading Criteria
Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.
Mint (10/10)
- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.
Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.
Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.
Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.
Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.
Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
If a separate accessory, stand, leaflet, certificate or optional part is missing, this will be mentioned in the listing notes. The model may still receive a high grade if the model itself remains in strong condition.
