Description
A collectable six-aircraft diecast set bringing together some of the most recognisable Allied and Axis fighter aircraft of the Second World War. Released as part of Corgi's A Century of War Showcase Collection, CSFS01006 is titled “Fighter Scramble”.
The European air war is represented by the Supermarine Spitfire and Messerschmitt Bf 109, two opposing fighter designs which became closely associated with the Battle of Britain and the wider aerial campaign over Europe.
The North American P-51D Mustang and Lockheed P-38 Lightning represent two of the most important American long-range fighters of the war. Both aircraft combined heavy concentrated armament with the endurance required for escort and offensive fighter operations.
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero and Vought F4U Corsair represent opposing sides of the Pacific air war. The lightweight and exceptionally manoeuvrable Zero achieved a formidable early-war reputation, while the powerful Corsair became one of the most effective Allied naval fighters of the conflict.
Each model features diecast construction, authentic military markings and a compact presentation stand. The mixed-scale format allows the six aircraft to be arranged together as a broad historical display.

Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.
Mint (10/10)
- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.
Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.
Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.
Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.
Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.
Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
