Description
A collectable four-aircraft diecast set celebrating some of the most important pioneering achievements from the opening decades of powered flight. Released in 2003 as part of Corgi's 100 Years of Flight Showcase Collection, CSCA01004 brings together aircraft associated with the Wright brothers, Louis Blériot, Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart.
The collection begins with the Wright Flyer, representing the aircraft used by Orville and Wilbur Wright during their pioneering experiments at Kitty Hawk. Its delicate biplane wings, exposed structure and unusual control arrangement reflect the earliest practical development of powered aviation.
Louis Blériot's Blériot XI represents the rapid progress achieved during the years immediately following the Wright brothers' flights. The aircraft became closely associated with Blériot's successful crossing of the English Channel and helped demonstrate the practical potential of aviation for travelling between countries.
The Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis represents Charles Lindbergh's celebrated solo transatlantic flight, while the Lockheed Vega is associated with Amelia Earhart and her own record-setting long-distance flights. Together, the four models trace the development of aviation from fragile experimental machines to increasingly capable long-range aircraft.
Each aircraft is produced in a compact display scale with diecast metal construction and detailed plastic components. The models are supplied as a themed presentation set with individual display stands and identifying information.

Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.
Mint (10/10)
- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.
Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.
Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.
Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.
Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.
Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
If a separate accessory, stand, leaflet, certificate or optional part is missing, this will be mentioned in the listing notes. The model may still receive a high grade if the model itself remains in strong condition.
