Description

A battle-hardened monument from the desperate defense of the Ardennes. This highly detailed 1:50 scale diecast model by Corgi (CC51031) replicates the Medium Tank M4A3(76)W Sherman (USA-30100145-S) attached to B Company, 2nd Tank Battalion, 9th Armored Division of the US Army. Positioned during the opening salvos of the Battle of the Bulge, this crew took part in the fierce, heavily outnumbered American defense at Clervaux Castle, Luxembourg, on December 17, 1944. By digging in and offering stubborn resistance against advancing spearheads of the German 5th Panzer Army, these units denied enemy forces the vital road intersections needed for a rapid breakthrough toward Antwerp. The real-world surviving tank remains preserved to this day near its original fighting position at Clervaux Castle, standing as a testament to the bravery of its crew.

Ideal for curators of Western Front armored warfare and specialized Battle of the Bulge history, this Military Legends Series release serves as a definitive historical artifact. The 1:50 scale model is engineered with premium precision, utilizing a heavyweight diecast construction that perfectly renders the late-production Sherman hull profile. Key technical highlights include a fully rotating turret housing a high-velocity 76mm main gun with an elevating barrel, a realistically cast hull with crisp panel lines, and accurate US Army olive drab livery complete with tactical stars and serial numbers. Finished with functional rolling wheels and flexible tracks, this premium model delivers a commanding presentation on any collector's display shelf.

Grading

Grading Criteria

Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.

Mint (10/10)
- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.

Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.

Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.

Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.

Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.

Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.

Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.

If a separate accessory, stand, leaflet, certificate or optional part is missing, this will be mentioned in the listing notes. The model may still receive a high grade if the model itself remains in strong condition.
