This 1:72 diecast model of Hermann Graf’s JG 50 Bf 109 commemorates a short-lived but significant unit created to counter high-altitude RAF Mosquito reconnaissance aircraft. Formed on July 21, 1943, as Jagdgruppe Süd der ObdL, it was quickly redesignated as JG 50 on August 15. Major Hermann Graf, one of the Luftwaffe’s most decorated aces, was appointed its commander until the unit was disbanded and absorbed into I./JG 301 in October 1943.

During his brief command, Graf claimed three aerial victories, including two USAAF B-17 bombers on September 6, 1943. Over the course of his wartime career, Hermann Graf achieved 212 confirmed kills across more than 830 missions - 202 on the Eastern Front and 10 in the West, with six of those being four-engine bombers.

This model comes prebuilt and includes display accessories and a stand, making it an excellent addition to any collection of WWII Luftwaffe aircraft.
