Corgi Aviation Archive 1:72 B-24 Liberator 'Male Call' Eighth Air Force AA34018

Sale price£275.00 GBP

Limited Edition
1273 of 1500
Pieces Worldwide

This 1:72 diecast model of B-24 Liberator 'Male Call' pays tribute to one of WWII’s most iconic and hard-working heavy bombers. Often overshadowed by the B-17 Flying Fortress and B-29 Superfortress, the Consolidated B-24 Liberator was the most heavily produced four-engined bomber in aviation history. Serving in every theatre of WWII, its long range and distinctive design played a crucial role in the Allied bombing campaign and anti-submarine efforts over the Atlantic.

One of the 18,500 B-24s built, Liberator 42-52154 'Male Call' flew 95 bombing missions and was likely the only survivor of the original 61 aircraft assigned to the 453rd Bombardment Group at RAF Old Buckenham from January 1944. It was also among the aircraft flown by Hollywood legend James 'Jimmy' Stewart during his time as Group Operations Officer at the base.

This model comes prebuilt and includes display accessories and a stand, making it a standout addition to any military aviation collection.
