Description
A striking and highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast representation of a Messerschmitt Bf 110C operating on the Russian Front during the severe winter of 1941. Released as part of the Corgi Aviation Archive Collector Series, AA38506 depicts an aircraft of Luftwaffe Kampfgeschwader 210 wearing a distinctive temporary winter camouflage finish.
KG 210 was one of the best-known operational units to employ the Messerschmitt Bf 110. Its aircraft were decorated with the unit's prominent wasp emblem and undertook demanding fighter-bomber and ground-attack operations during the opening stages of Germany's campaign in the Soviet Union.
As winter conditions intensified during 1941, Luftwaffe ground crews applied temporary white camouflage to help aircraft blend into the snow-covered landscape. The wash was frequently applied around existing national, tactical and unit markings, producing irregular schemes that varied considerably between individual aircraft.
This model recreates that operational appearance with a predominantly grey finish partially covered by temporary white winter paint. Yellow recognition bands are applied around the rear fuselage and engine spinners, while the wasp nose artwork, black and white national markings and individual aircraft identifiers remain visible beneath the winter treatment.
Designed as a long-range, multi-role fighter, the Messerschmitt Bf 110 first flew in 1936. Its twin-engine layout, heavy forward-firing armament and two-man crew made it effective in the fighter-bomber and ground-attack roles. Although it proved vulnerable when confronted by more agile single-engine fighters, the Bf 110 later achieved considerable success as a night fighter.
Limited to only 1,000 pieces worldwide, this release is particularly appealing to collectors of Eastern Front aircraft and operational winter camouflage schemes. The model features heavyweight diecast construction, a detailed birdcage cockpit canopy with crew figures, nose-mounted cannon and machine-gun ports, separately applied aerials, twin rotating propellers, detailed engine nacelles, authentic KG 210 markings and the original Corgi Aviation Archive presentation stand.

Model Condition - Excellent (8/10)
The model did not appear to have been previously displayed, as the protective plastic film was originally undisturbed and showed no signs of having been removed. However, after identifying the factory defects noted below, we carefully removed the model to photograph the underside in greater detail and check for any further concealed issues.
The model is a very snug fit within the plastic tray, so the tray will need to be gently flexed to remove it safely.
The identified defects are as follows:
- A small amount of residue is present within the panel line on the nose, just ahead of the cockpit
- The front edge of the clear cockpit section is slightly raised.
Box condition - Mint (10/10)
- No notable defects.
Photographed under studio lighting to highlight even the smallest imperfections. Buy with confidence, what you see is exactly what you get.
Any imperfections are shown in the images and description. Refer to the grading tab for more details. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Grading
Grading Criteria
Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.
Mint (10/10)
- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.
Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.
Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.
Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.
Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.
Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
If a separate accessory, stand, leaflet, certificate or optional part is missing, this will be mentioned in the listing notes. The model may still receive a high grade if the model itself remains in strong condition.
