Corgi Aviation Archive 1:144 AC-130H Hercules 'Spectre Gunship' AA31306

Sale price£80.00 GBP

Description

This 1:72 diecast model of Lockheed AC-130H Hercules 69-6568 represents one of the most formidable close air support aircraft in U.S. Air Force history. Originally delivered in July 1969 as a standard C-130E transport, this airframe served with the 61st Tactical Airlift Squadron at Sewart AFB, Tennessee. In September 1972, it was among eleven aircraft converted into AC-130E Spectre gunships and assigned to the 415th Special Operations Training Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Florida.

Further upgraded to AC-130H standard in November 1974, the aircraft adopted an overall grey paint scheme by mid-1975 and transferred to the 16th Special Operations Squadron in 1978. Remarkably, 69-6568 has remained in service ever since, part of a long line of heavily armed Hercules gunships that include later AC-130U upgrades.

This model comes prebuilt and includes display accessories and a stand, making it a must-have for collectors interested in U.S. Air Force Special Operations and the legendary Hercules platform.
