Description
A distinctive and highly detailed 1:48 scale diecast representation of the Fokker Dr.I Triplane flown by German fighter ace Lothar von Richthofen during 1918. Released as part of the Corgi Aviation Archive Collector Series, AA38302 depicts a Luftstreitkräfte Jasta 11 aircraft in its instantly recognisable green streaked and yellow personal colour scheme.
Lothar von Richthofen joined the German Air Service during the First World War and was assigned to Jasta 11, the fighter squadron closely associated with his elder brother, Manfred von Richthofen. Although often described as a more aggressive and impulsive pilot than his brother, Lothar proved to be a highly effective fighter ace and achieved numerous victories during a relatively short period of frontline combat.
The aircraft carries the streaked green finish commonly associated with Fokker-built Dr.I triplanes, combined with a prominent yellow rear fuselage, tail and wheel covers. Black and white Iron Cross markings are displayed across the wings, fuselage and tail, creating one of the most distinctive German fighter schemes of the First World War.
The Fokker Dr.I was developed in response to the successful Sopwith Triplane and became one of the most recognisable combat aircraft of the conflict. Its three closely spaced wings provided excellent manoeuvrability and climbing performance, although the aircraft was slower than many contemporary fighters and could be challenging for inexperienced pilots to handle.
Limited to 1,750 pieces worldwide, this substantial 1:48 scale release is especially appealing to collectors of German military aviation and First World War fighter aircraft. The model features simulated fabric-covered surfaces, fine wing bracing wires, a detailed open cockpit with pilot figure, twin Spandau machine guns, rotating propeller, separately rendered engine and cowling detail, rolling rubber tyres and the original Corgi Aviation Archive presentation stand.

Grading Criteria
Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.

- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.
Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.
Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.
Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.
Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.
Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
If a separate accessory, stand, leaflet, certificate or optional part is missing, this will be mentioned in the listing notes. The model may still receive a high grade if the model itself remains in strong condition.
