Description
An ultra-sleek, heavyweight 1:72 scale diecast replica celebrating the dawn of Europe's premier multirole fighter program. This premium model from Corgi's Aviation Archive Collector Series (AA36403) represents the Eurofighter Typhoon F.Mk 2 Development Aircraft 2 (DA2) as it appeared in its striking all-black evaluation livery.
Based at RAF Leuchars, Scotland, in 1998, this specific airframe (Serial ZH588) wore the legendary markings of the RAF's famous No. 43 "Fighting Cocks" Squadron during its critical testing phase. Designed as a co-operative air superiority effort between Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, the Eurofighter first took flight on March 27, 1994.
Engineered to be intentionally aerodynamically unstable to provide unmatched maneuverability, the Typhoon relies on a computerized "fly-by-wire" flight system. The state-of-the-art aircraft was optimized for high-altitude supersonic combat while remaining highly capable at low levels, eventually replacing older frontline combat types like the Tornado F3 and Jaguar fighter-bombers.
Prized by modern military aviation collectors for its incredibly sleek aesthetics and rare 1,810-piece limited worldwide run, this model is built with high diecast metal content and feels surprisingly heavy. The F.2 single-seat configuration is represented with a large clear canopy that provides an excellent view of the detailed cockpit interior and pilot crew figure.
Advanced engineering highlights include functional canards situated ahead of the delta wing that rotate in unison, and a deployable speed brake that locks firmly into position. Underneath, the complex engine intakes are beautifully shaped to highlight the Typhoon's low-radar-signature design, leading back to detailed exhaust nozzles that clearly showcase internal afterburner ring structures.

Grading
Grading Criteria
Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.
Mint (10/10)
- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.
Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.
Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.
Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.
Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.
Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
If a separate accessory, stand, leaflet, certificate or optional part is missing, this will be mentioned in the listing notes. The model may still receive a high grade if the model itself remains in strong condition.
