Description
A finely detailed 1:72 scale diecast recreation of Fairey Swordfish Mk I L2742/529 of Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm No.810 Naval Air Squadron aboard HMS Courageous in 1937.
The Swordfish was developed as a carrier-based torpedo bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. Although its fabric-covered biplane design appeared outdated, its stability, payload flexibility and dependable low-speed handling made it exceptionally well suited to naval operations.
L2742 was associated with HMS Courageous and could be operated with either floats or wheeled landing gear. This AA36310B release represents the wheeled configuration; its companion variant depicted the same aircraft fitted for floatplane operations.
Limited to 1,500 pieces worldwide, the model features folding wings, fine bracing wires, a detailed open cockpit with three crew figures, pivoting rear machine gun, rotating propeller and presentation display stand.

- The model is in very good overall condition.
- Small wear marks are present on the topsides of the wings.
- An area on the nose shows discolouration to the grey paint or a possible repair attempt; the cause cannot be confirmed.
- The ladder on the side is loose at one side of its base.
- One folding wing is looser than the other. It remains in position for display but swings back more freely during handling, so care is advised.
- Comes complete with its original parts and accessories.

- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.
Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
