Description

A celebratory, high-flying tribute to half a century of aerobatic excellence. This highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast model by Corgi (AA36011) replicates the BAE Systems Hawk T.Mk 1 operating with the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, during their historic 2014 display season. Universally recognized as one of the premier precision display teams in the world, the Red Arrows marked their milestone 50th Display Season in 2014 by unveiling a spectacular, redesigned tail fin livery. The dual-control Hawk T1 has served as the backbone of the team's jaw-dropping aerial choreography since 1979, when it replaced the aging Folland Gnat. Powered by a robust Rolls-Royce Adour engine, the nimble Hawk can reach top speeds of Mach 1.2, allowing the team to push the absolute limits of formation flight. This release flawlessly captures the signature brilliant red scheme accented by the commemorative 50th anniversary union jack tail graphic.

Ideal for curators of aerobatic teams and modern Royal Air Force heritage, this Aviation Archive Collector Series release serves as a definitive historical artifact. The 1:72 scale model is engineered with exceptional accuracy, capturing the clean, aerodynamic lines of the RAF's advanced tandem trainer. Structural details include crisp panel line definitions, realistic under-fuselage detailing representing the team's specialized smoke generation system—which injects diesel and colored dye into the exhaust flow—and a clear canopy housing finely rendered crew positions. Complete with optional landing gear configurations and a custom presentation display stand to pose the jet in an elegant, dynamic banking profile, this premium diecast model offers a commanding gallery presence.

Grading

Grading Criteria

Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.

Mint (10/10)
- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.

Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.

Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.

Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.

Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.

Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.

Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.

If a separate accessory, stand, leaflet, certificate or optional part is missing, this will be mentioned in the listing notes. The model may still receive a high grade if the model itself remains in strong condition.
