Description
A highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast representation of one of the most historically significant surviving Messerschmitt Bf 109s from the Battle of Britain. Released as part of the Corgi Aviation Archive Collector Series, AA28003 depicts Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 W.Nr.3579, carrying the distinctive tactical marking “White 14” while serving with 1.(J)/LG 2 at Calais-Marck Airfield in France during September 1940.
The aircraft is closely associated with the early combat career of Hans-Joachim Marseille, who would later become one of the Luftwaffe's best-known fighter pilots. Marseille scored his first confirmed aerial victory while flying “White 14”, claiming an RAF fighter during operations over the English Channel. Although he achieved seven victories during the Battle of Britain, his aggressive flying style also resulted in him being shot down several times during the campaign.
Operating from Calais-Marck during the height of the Battle of Britain, the aircraft took part in the Luftwaffe's sustained effort to challenge RAF Fighter Command over southern England and the Channel. The model recreates its distinctive early-war finish, combining a mottled grey and green camouflage scheme with a prominent yellow engine cowling, yellow rudder and yellow wingtip recognition markings. The large white tactical number 14 and black-and-white Balkenkreuz markings complete its instantly recognisable appearance.
Developed as a fast and compact single-seat fighter, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 became one of the defining combat aircraft of the Second World War. Its all-metal construction, enclosed cockpit, retractable undercarriage and powerful inline engine placed it among the most advanced fighters in service when first introduced. The Bf 109E was one of the principal Luftwaffe fighter variants used throughout the Battle of Britain and remained a formidable opponent for RAF Spitfires and Hurricanes.
The original W.Nr.3579 survived beyond Marseille's time with the aircraft and was later rebuilt before returning to operational service on the Eastern Front. After being lost in 1942, its wreckage was recovered decades later and extensively restored, making “White 14” an especially compelling subject for aviation collectors. Limited to 1,300 pieces worldwide, this release features heavyweight diecast construction, a detailed cockpit beneath a clear canopy, a rotating three-bladed propeller, finely reproduced camouflage and markings, supplied accessories and the original Corgi Aviation Archive presentation stand.

Grading Criteria
Our grading is based mainly on the physical condition of the model itself, including paintwork, attached parts, repairs, visible wear and overall presentation. Box condition and missing separate accessories are noted separately where applicable.
