Description
A magnificent tribute to the historic final aerial victory of the RAF's Mustang command. This highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast model by Corgi (AA27703) replicates the North American Mustang Mk IV (KH790 / WH-C), the personal machine of celebrated Norwegian ace Wing Commander Werner Christie, leader of No.150 Wing out of RAF Hunsdon, England, in the spring of 1945. Following a successful bomber escort mission over Germany, Christie spotted a flight of Focke-Wulf Fw 190s over Finow airfield. Diving instantly into combat, his opening burst severed the wing of an unsuspecting enemy fighter, scoring his eleventh and final victory of the war. This fateful engagement marked the absolute final recorded aerial victory for a Royal Air Force Mustang during WWII. This release perfectly captures the aircraft's striking natural metal finish accented by a black anti-glare panel, colorful red spinner, and authentic RAF service roundels.
Ideal for curators of late-war European theatre operations and classic RAF fighter fighter command history, this Aviation Archive Collector Series release serves as a definitive historical artifact. The 1:72 scale model is engineered with premium precision, featuring a large clear "bubble-top" canopy that provides an unobstructed view of the hand-painted pilot figure and detailed cockpit layout. Key structural highlights include an accurately modeled under-fuselage radiator scoop, crisp recessed panel line definitions across the wings and fuselage, and realistic wing-mount structural detailing visible inside the open wheel wells. Complete with a heavy-duty metal presentation stand to display this historic warbird in an elegant in-flight profile, this model offers a commanding presence in any elite aviation collection.

- As new, with no visible flaws to the model itself.
Near Mint (9/10)
- Very light signs of handling, storage or display only.
Excellent (8/10)
- Light wear or a few tiny marks, but still displays very well.
Very Good (7/10)
- Noticeable wear, small chips or rubs, but still presentable as a display piece.
Good (6/10)
- Obvious overall wear, visible marks or paint loss; better suited as a display or filler piece.
Fair (5/10)
- Heavy wear, larger areas of paint loss, repairs or clearly visible flaws.
Spares / Repairs (4/10 or below)
- Significant damage, missing attached parts, broken components or best suited for restoration/spares.
