Description

The striking winter mount of history's most successful fighter ace. This highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast model by Corgi (AA27101) replicates the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 "White 1," flown by the legendary Major Erich Hartmann while in temporary command of 1. Staffel, Jagdgeschwader 53 (1./JG 53) in Hungary during the early months of 1945. Throughout his unparalleled flying career, Hartmann amassed an incredible 352 aerial victories. While almost all his kills were scored with his home unit of JG 52, it was during this brief attachment to JG 53 that Hartmann claimed his only non-JG 52 victory—a Soviet Yak-9 fighter. Finished in an authentic late-war temporary white winter camouflage wash that allows elements of the underlying grey splinter scheme to show through, this model proudly features Hartmann’s iconic black "Tulip" nose art design.

Ideal for curators of late-war Eastern Front history and premium WWII fighter collections, this Aviation Archive Collector Series release serves as a definitive historical artifact. The 1:72 scale model is engineered with exceptional accuracy, featuring an all-metal construction with detailed panel lines, a localized under-fuselage centerline drop tank, and finely molded wing-mounted cannon pods. The rear horizontal stabilizers and rudder are crisply cast with simulated fabric-stretched control surfaces, paired with a framed greenhouse canopy housing a pilot figure. Complete with robust landing gear subassemblies for ground configuration and a custom metal presentation display stand, this premium model delivers a commanding presence in any historical gallery.
