This 1:72 diecast model of the Grumman F-14 Tomcat captures one of the most iconic and versatile carrier-based fighters in U.S. Navy history. First flown on December 21, 1970, the F-14 was developed to replace the F-4 Phantom II and was designed to carry the long-range AIM-54 Phoenix missile, giving it exceptional reach in fleet defense roles. Its variable geometry wings allowed for both high-speed supersonic flight and agile maneuvering during dogfights.
The F-14 gained worldwide fame through the film Top Gun and later earned the nickname "Bombcat" as it transitioned into an air-to-ground strike role in the 1990s. Equipped with the LANTIRN targeting pod, it remained a powerful multi-role platform until its retirement in 2006.
This model comes prebuilt and includes display accessories and a stand.
