The 1:48 scale diecast model combines a preserved RAF aircraft with a scheme commemorating wartime night-fighter operations.

The markings honour Karel Kuttelwascher and Hurricane BE581 of No. 1 Squadron. Flying night-intruder missions from Tangmere in 1942, the squadron attacked enemy aircraft around their airfields, often catching bombers as they returned from operations.

PZ865 was the last Hurricane built and later joined the BBMF. It wore the Night Reaper scheme at air displays as a tribute to Kuttelwascher; this model represents that preserved aircraft, rather than the original wartime BE581.

Fact Sheet

Brand: Hobby Master

Series: Air Power

Model code: HA8652

Aircraft: Hawker Hurricane IIc

Serial / Code: PZ865 / JX-E

Operator: RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

Base: RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire

Markings: Night Reaper, commemorating Karel Kuttelwascher's BE581

Unit commemorated: No. 1 Squadron, RAF

Historical context: Night-intruder operations, 1942; later BBMF commemorative scheme

Role: Preserved fighter and memorial display aircraft

Special Features: Four-cannon Hurricane IIc configuration and Night Reaper markings

Scale: 1:48

Material: Diecast metal with plastic components

Model Dimensions

Length: Approximately 8.1 inches / 20.5 cm

Wingspan: Approximately 10 inches / 25.4 cm

Condition

Model Condition - Excellent (8/10)

Paintwork: A couple of areas of excess or spilled paint attributed to manufacture, with a few additional marks, including along the wing edges.

Completeness: Comes complete.

Box Condition - Very Good (7/10)

Tear marks to the insert tab and general shelf wear; very good overall.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.

The model will be securely packaged for dispatch.

https://www.thecollectablesvault.com/products/hobby-master-ha8652-1-48-hawker-hurricane-iic-pz865-jx-e-night-reaper-raf-bbmf
