Mansfeld and Flying Officer S. Janáček of No.68 Squadron from Fairwood Common in May 1944.

No.68 Squadron specialised in night interception and included many Czechoslovak aircrew. Flying ND211, Mansfeld and Janáček destroyed two Dornier Do 217 bombers over the English Channel during the night of 14 to 15 May 1944.

The Beaufighter combined heavy cannon and machine-gun armament with the power and endurance of a twin-engined airframe. In Mk VIF form it became a highly effective radar-equipped night fighter, making this release especially appealing to collectors of RAF night operations.

Fact Sheet

Brand: Hobby Master

Series: Air Power Series

Model Code: HA2317

Scale: 1:72

Aircraft / Variant: Bristol Beaufighter Mk VIF

Aircraft Identity / Serial: ND211 / WM-K

Pilot / Crew: Squadron Leader M.J.
