This force was intended to support the Allied strategic bombing campaign against Japan following the defeat of Germany.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe war ended before Tiger Force could begin offensive operations. No. 9 Squadron nevertheless deployed to RAF Salbani in India during January 1946, several months after the Japanese surrender.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile based in India, the squadron's Lancasters undertook photographic and training duties.
